It is always a joy to see the amazing things that people bring for our homegrown and handmade swap. This time we had some really interesting items such as tallow soap, lip balm and vapor rub. In particular we were very keen to learn how to make the lip balm and vapor rub so we might do that later in the year. We were told they are super easy to make. |
The pasta making workshop last Saturday was incredibly motivational for a number of reasons. It was so good to have 22 year old Joshua Philips present the demonstration. How wonderful it is to have a young male interested in cooking and willing to share his knowledge with others. We also had another young male who came to the workshop as well. 25 people attended the workshop and several people have told me that they have already given it a go. Joshua did such a good job of showing us what to do and he certainly made it look achieveable for all of us. In two hours Joshua made two different types of pasta, a pesto sauce, tomato and chorizo sauce and a ravioli with burnt butter and sage sauce. We were all able to taste the pasta and it was truly delicious. Thank you so much to Joshua and his assistant, Jennylyn, his Mum for this fun, tasty and inspirational workshop. |
